Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Lori Steele Contorer is the world's top expert in election modernization, pioneering the adoption of software as a service and bringing proven state of the art technologies, already proven in other mission–critical industries, to make elections more accessible, affordable, transparent and secure. The transformation has begun, and her visionary leadership in business, innovation and elections led to Ms. Steele Contorer being named in 2013 to Fortune Magazine’s 10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs List, a winner of San Diego Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business Award and her induction into the Bowling Green State University Dallas Hamilton Entrepreneur’s Hall of Fame. Since founding Everyone Counts she has led successful election administration and voting projects in countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Australia, serving voters located in over 165 countries, as well as for the transition from vote by mail to secure online voting for the iconic Oscar and Emmy awards. Ms. Steele Contorer previously served as Vice President, Investments at Citigroup, specializing in searching out the most game-changing emerging and state-of-the-art technologies globally, and the companies that would lead industry transformation of those innovative technologies best. Chief Financial Officer &
Vice President of Finance and Administration
Bill Kuncz is Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance and Administration. He has over 19 years of successful CFO leadership experience in both launching start-ups to achieve market proven success and building profitable high growth companies in technology, wireless, direct to consumer goods, international engineering services, manufacturing and semiconductors. Most recently, he served for 9 years as CFO and VP of Finance of GreatCall, creators of the Jitterbug cell phone. When he joined, GreatCall had a handful of employees, was just going to market and had yet to obtain outside financing. His leadership contributions helped produce 34 consecutive quarters of growth in revenue and gross margin, most recent annual revenue of over $230M, and an organization size of over 1,000 employees. While serving at GreatCall, Bill was recognized as the winner of the 2009 San Diego CFO of the Year Award.
Prior to that Bill served for more than seven years as CFO and VP of Finance Vice for Vertical Circuits, Inc., a global supplier of semiconductor and electronic products and services to worldwide commercial, aerospace and military customers, where he managed all aspects of the company’s financial, legal and administrative functions. Prior to that, he co-founded a network of 11 Dental practices, serving as its CFO and as a Director, until selling the business to a publicly traded management firm. Mr. Kuncz also held senior positions in financial and operations management at PMC-Sierra Semiconductor Corporation, a publicly traded semiconductor manufacturer. Mr. Kuncz holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Michigan.
VP, Election Operations
James Simmons is a technology and operations leader with deep expertise in building, deploying, securing and supporting complex systems in highly-regulated industries and environments. As VP, Election Operations he is responsible for the Project Management, Professional Services, Information Technology, and Security teams. Before joining Everyone Counts, James’ career was spent in the defense, supply chain and legal services industries. His work includes: creating and leading the IT department for the multi-billion dollar MRAP armored vehicle fleet’s Middle East operations; building an enterprise SaaS platform used by over 50 of the Fortune 500 companies to manage their global supply chains; architecting and running the most complex distributed combat simulation ever developed by the U.S. Army; and most recently leading product development in a company disrupting the legal services market. James received his Bachelors in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College, is certified in project management (PMP) and IT service management (ITIL), and is a recognized expert in cybersecurity and information assurance.
Rodd Novak is an international sales and marketing leader with 18+ years of experience leading market driven sales teams and driving product line plans. Prior to joining Everyone Counts, Rodd served as VP Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Peregrine Semiconductor with P&L responsibility. Over 10 years he accounted for a 30% cumulative growth rate and amassed 1500 customers in 54 countries. Rodd started his career as a software design engineer for Northrop Grumman with degrees in Electrical Engineering and later obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University.
VP, Product Engineering
Klaus Hofrichter is an engineering manager with more than 15 years of experience in software development and product design. Before joining Everyone Counts, Klaus served as SVP of Engineering for Sony in San Diego. In that role, he was overseeing cross functional teams supporting many Sony business units and related products (TV, Blu-Ray Player, Mobile, Game Console, Wearable, Network Services). Before that, Klaus was Director at Sony Computer Entertainment contributing to PS2 and PS3 platform components. Earlier he was at Sony Electronics in San Jose as individual contributor and General Manager. Klaus was also co-founder of TwonkyVision, a bootstrap startup in Germany developing media presentation and server software. TwonkyVision was successfully acquired by Packet Video in 2006.
VP, Sales & Marketing
Adam Tesan is Executive Sales & Revenue Leader, and brings 12+ years of sales and leadership experience in the software industry to Everyone Counts. He is a member Everyone Counts’ executive team and is responsible for the direction of all sales and business development operations. Prior to joining Everyone Counts, Adam served as VP of Sales for Active Network, Inc. leading a global team of 60 sales professionals. He also held key leadership roles in sales and business development at Active. Adam’s academic credentials include a Business Studies degree from The Business School at Manchester Metropolitan University in England.
Sr. Director, Quality Assurance
Sandeep Garud has over 11 years of QA leadership experience in both functional and nonfunctional testing. Before joining Everyone Counts’ he has managed multiple large and complex QA deliveries for a web products and mobile apps portfolio for Xpanxion.
Mr. Garud’s specialties include functional testing, smoke/sanity testing, regression testing, integration testing, automation frameworks, white box testing, JUnit, code review, web services testing, mobile application testing, test planning, test management, project planning, estimation and scheduling, monitoring and tracking, and risk management.
Director, Professional Services
Sheri Charleston brings over 20 years in the election management and services industry. She possesses a broad spectrum of account management experience from her work with election solution companies, and has a proven success record of leading complex election system implementations for major jurisdictions with millions of voters, across the nation. Ms. Charleston’s election experience includes ballot layout and production, managing election data, change management, staff training on commercial off-the-shelf hardware, software as a service and life cycle project management from planning through post-implementation support. Her satisfied customers include multiple counties and states, from coast-to-coast in the US.
Strategic Advisor to the CEO
Aaron Contorer spent 10 years as an executive with Microsoft on Windows, MSN, and Visual Studio, as well as served as Bill Gates' technical adviser. He has led startup companies in the fields of printing, business decision optimization, and high-end Web server infrastructure. Mr. Contorer holds several patents in distributed systems and network security and has degrees in computer science and psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was one of the original Internet software developers at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) and was one of the creators of the shareware business model.
