The election news from Hawaii seems both interesting and unobjectionable: Honolulu has became the first jurisdiction to run an “all digital” election–that is, all the ballots were cast on the Internet, or by telephone. After the voting was finished on Friday, the Associated Press headline painted the Aloha State as e-pioneers: “Honolulu’s Internet vote considered 1st in nation.”

e-Participation, Social Inclusion and Democratic Engagement are just some of the topics for discussion at the International e-Participation and Local Democracy Symposium. The symposium begins in Budapest, Hungary in July and will be further developed in Baltimore, USA in August. Lori Steele, CEO of Everyone Counts Inc., will be speaking at both events as part of a panel of electoral industry experts.

US & Aussie Firms Team For The Future of ‘Absentee’ Balloting

IACREOT attendees Given today’s pre-election hullabaloo over the integrity of electronic poll-site voting machines the hundreds of US election officials who descended on San Antonio this week for their annual trade conference (see IACREOT) were not expecting to preview Internet Voting technology – but ‘point & click’ balloting was there for a test drive.

In collaboration with Popularis.org, Everyone Counts recently provided the technical support for the United Kingdom Labor Party's National Executive Committee Election in June. This was the first time that the state of the art 'Voice over Internet Protocol' (VoIP) technology was used along with Internet voting.

After 18 months of development the new e3 Interface will be rolled out in May. The new look e3 is easier to use, has more features and streamlines existing procedures.
