Excluding and Cancelling Submissions
Authors have been able to exclude submissions from a project for a while, adding to this authors can now cancel a vote. Cancelling a submission means that it becomes unauthorised and is not included in the counted submissions. For the user this means they can go back to the project using the same login details and make a new submission, this will replace the cancelled one. This is useful in the case where a user submitted to the wrong ballots or questions, or if the user had a technical problem during their submission, but still registered a valid submission (and were therefore unable to go back to the submission to make changes etc).
Excluding a submission also makes the users submission unauthorised, however an excluded submission means that the user will NOT be given anymore access to the project. In order to submit again they would require new login credentials.
You can exclude/cancel users by accessing View Results from the Project Manager.
Message Files
You can now change the language of the automated messages for your project in two ways:
- Access a Wizard template, download the custom_messages.csv file from the Masthead. You can adapt this file then load it into the Resource Library and attach it to the wizard project.
- Using the same file you adapted from the Wizard project, attach it to an eScript project using the following command .message %file custom_messages.csv. This will ensure that the project will now use the new file and not the default messages.
For more information regarding the use of messages in projects, just take a look at Help!
Pop-up CV's
CVs can be constructed in two ways: either inline or popup. With inline CVs, the content of each CV appears on the same page as the ballot, but at the bottom of the page. With popup CVs, a separate HTML page is constructed containing the CV content, and when a voter clicks on a CV link a new window is opened with the CV content in it.
By default, all CV's appear in a pop-up window for wizard projects and ST Elections.
In order to make your CVs pop-up you will need to add the following command to the header of the eScript. .cv %place popup. Ensure that at the end of each CV in the eScript there is a .cv %end command. Your CVs will now appear in a pop-up window!

Tips
Don't forget! If you have more than one person accessing your author account, make sure that you record any actions using the Notes function. This way you will have your own log of what has been done on your projects.
