Craig A. Burton

Craig Burton is a computer scientist and has been programming since 1982. He has a special interest in online democracy and online consensus. Craig has been writing high availability, high integrity applications for the Internet since he provided the remote assessment system for the University of Melbourne in 1995.
In 1997, he ran the world's first binding online election using STV (preferential style voting) for 8,000 people around the world. Since then he has overseen development of IBISWorld.com in 1998, an early English and Mandarin e-commerce site for business intelligence.
Craig went on to form Everyone Counts Inc. which was incubated at KPMG Australia until 2003. In that same year Everyone Counts Inc. executed the world's first fully electronic election in Stratford-on-Avon, UK. Craig continues to be challenged and rewarded by the technical requirements of online democracy for which he has many exciting plans.
