Highest turnout in history. 96% of members that signed up for online voting cast ballots.
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Hawk Koch announced that 90 percent of the Academy's members voted for the last Oscars. "That was such an amazing number that we wanted to make it public," he said of the voting number, which had never before been revealed.
For the first time ever, academy members had the opportunity to cast their ballot electronically by using Everyone Counts revolutionary software. This convenience resulted in over 96 percent of the people who signed up for online voting actually casting their ballots. Academy CEO Dawn Hudson said, "It was such a testament to the success of e-voting that we wanted to tell the members."
